Paul Saulnier is a pianist, composer, arranger, organist, and church choir director from West Pubnico. For over six decades, he has showcased his music and contributed to Acadian culture in his community and throughout the province.
He started taking piano lessons at the age of seven and in later years, took organ lessons at Université Sainte-Anne and Québec. For many years, he was accompanist for three choirs and two vocal ensembles.

Paul has performed on English and French radio and television and participated in numerous cultural and musical activities including 6 times with Symphony Nova Scotia, Centre 200 in Sydney, various other venues throughout Halifax, in Yarmouth and in the Maritimes. He has four solo albums to his credit (Piano dans la nuit, Serenata, Noël autour du monde and Portraits), and has collaborated on seven others. Paul performed the world premiere of his suite “Les Acadiens” (The Acadians) with Symphony Nova Scotia at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in 1992.

In 2003, he performed a special piece with Symphony Nova Scotia, which he composed to underline the festivities of the 350th anniversary of the founding of Pubnico. Paul is currently the choir director and organist at St. Peter’s Church in West Pubnico and has been for 62 years.
