Photo de Xénia

Xénia is a transdisciplinary poet from Shediac (Es-ed-ei-ik) who lives in Montreal. Since 2017, she’s shaken the Acadian cultural scene with her characters Jass-Sainte Bourque and Chiquita Mère, coming to question the lack of 2SLGBTQ+ representation across the Acadian diaspora.

Based in Montreal, Xénia works as a poet and interdisciplinary performer carrying her Acadian dialect, chiac, with her like a torch.
She anarchically and precisely weaves languages together through brilliant performances. Today, Xénia explores the relationship between her body, her desires, and the concept of “home”. Expressed through archaic and seductive performances, she skims the line between comedy and poetry.

Xénia published her first collection of poetry “Des fleurs comme moi”, published by Prise de Parole (2023), and is currently working on her next book and her first interdisciplinary performance.
