Steven Holloway is a Nova Scotian who began teaching at Dalhousie University in 1981 and finished his with a 33-year career in Political Science at SFTX. He has published numerous articles and books on International Relations and the Global Economy including his major text, Canadian Foreign Policy: Defining the Canadian National Interest, a history of Canadian foreign affairs published by Broadview/University of Toronto in 2006.
In 2012 his daughter married into the Doucette family of Halifax and Yarmouth, which began his research interest in Acadian and Doucette family history. He has dedicated his 2023 book, Acadian Spring: The Doucets of Port Royal and Other Founding Families in 17th Century Acadia, to his Doucette grandkids among others.
