Photo d'André Muise
André Muise grew up in Quinan, between two rivers and a string of nijagans. The Acadian oral culture of southwestern Nova Scotia imprints on its poetry an unusual rhythm and phrasing in an ingenious fusion between the oral and the written. His texts have been published in the magazines Éloizes, Feux chalins, Port Acadie, Feux fouts, Marache, and Angrages. His collection of poetry La falaise à la fin des marées (Éditions Perce-Neige, 2002) was a finalist for the Antoine-Mailet-Acadie-Vie prize. After long stays in Baie Sainte-Marie, Louisiana, and Belgium, he currently lives in Mahone Bay with his wife and son.
